The Ford Explorer ST 3.0L Turbo engine has the potential for elevated levels of fuel dilution similar to its predecessor Ecoboost's. For this reason we recommend using AMSOIL SIgnature Series 5w30. Our personal Oil Analysis reports have shown that AMSOIL SIgnature Series can withstand upwards of 5% fuel dilution without sacrificing additives and still prevent wear of internal soft metals.
We recommend to not exceed 10,000 mile intervals unless a Oil Analysis is performed. We also highly recommend installing a catch can system to help reduce fuel dilution.

To improve cold start in extreme climates where the ambient temperature is -22 F (-30 C) or below use 0W-30 oil meeting WSS-M2C963-A1.
Capacity:6 quarts (with filter)After refill check oil level.
Torque:Oil Drain Plug... Turn the oil drain plug by hand 120 degrees counterclockwise to remove, to replace turn 120 degrees clockwise.
